Up for Air

6 days post-op

I was getting better physically when I recorded this yesterday but then today my new nipples are SO STING and ITCH 🤣 Supposedly this means they are healing, but UNFORTUNATELY while googling this I accidentally found a horrible Reddit thread about something called “dead nipple syndrome” (???!!) Apparently this is when women are minding their business, just living their post-op lives, when suddenly THEIR NIPPLES FALL OFF. Like full stop. Zombie style. I can’t make this shit up.

So THAT changed my tune in a hurray (“itch” and “sting” are now precious welcome proof that my nipples are, in fact, very much alive). But ya, I’m ok. Sleeping lots. A little woozy. Would def still recommend keeping your expectations of me as low as possible for the next couple of weeks.

I'm really loving all the cute messages and well wishes from people. If you sent one, THANK YOU, I GOT IT, and you literally made my day, but then I fell asleep. When the energy of life runs through me once again, WE SHALL RECONVENE, and I can’t wait. I appreciate it so much.

PLEASE SEND ME funny shit / memes / vids / comedy sets/ etc etc.. That shit is saving me rn. Anna and I just rewatched all the 30 Rock Dr. Leo Spaceman scenes (pronounced Spech-emmen, of course) and it’s just so obvious that character came from a woman clocking some serious doctor time. THINK ABOUT IT: half (HALF)e of planet earth’s population goes through up to ten years of perimenopause, but there’s NEXT TO NO RESEARCH or INFORMATION about it

That’s FUCKED.

Anyway we were HOWLING. Side note: I totally get why people get hooked on painkillers. (Don’t worry, I won’t).

I’ll leave you with a nerdy pic of me weighing out yarn in front of a fireplace. Not pictured: me doing math and giddily clapping my hands.

À la prochaine,

xo CP
